Blue Mountain Park is located on the corner of King Albert Avenue and Blue Mountain Street and is home to our Junior through Big League Divisions. The field lays 300' to each corner and is approximately 375' to straight away center. The jump from Mackin's 60' base paths to Blue Mountain's 90' paths is too demanding for the youngsters moving up from below so Blue Mountain is also equipped to run 80' bases to make the transition easier in the first half of the Junior season. For the same reason, Blue Mountain is also set-up with a double mound with a Jr. rubber at 54' and a Sr. rubber at 60'6". After the Junior Division Mid-Season Classic the short 54/80 diamond is dropped and all divisions play at the full 60/90 diamond. Blue Mountain is stacked with stadium lighting allowing for regular night games, an electronic scoreboard and PA System, and a fully functioning concession stand. Blue Mountain also boasts a top notch batting facility which houses 2 cages allowing for Coquitlam players to polish their skills year round. The facility was built in 1998 in conjunction with the City of Coquitlam to raise Coquitlam Little League to the premier level in Canada. Running year round clinics and practices, and never being left out in the rain or snow, Coquitlam Little League has developed 3 National Champion teams at the Junior level, 1 Provincial Champion team at the Senior level, and has developed numerous players on the D3 Fraser Valley team who have been National Champions a total of 10 times! Blue Mountain plays host to 4 annual tournaments: The 12/13yr old Mid-Season Classic, the Junior League Wood Bat Classic, The Big League Wood Bat Classic and The Karl Gosselin Memorial Tournament. And has also hosted numerous major tournaments over the years. Standouts include Hosting Canadains at the Junior level twice in 1999 and 2008, both times Coquitlam emerged National Champions. |
