Coquitlam Little League has announced the following clinics:

Hitting Clinics

Level 1
This four-session course builds player’s swings from the ground up. Instruction includes: assessing strengths and gaps, learning from your at bat, drills to make hitters better and the mental approach to hitting. 
Sundays, January 21 - February 11
Registration based on 2018 League Age
8-11 Year Olds - 10am 
11-12 Year Olds - 11am

$60.00 per player
Location - Blue Mountain Batting Cage

Maximum 8 players per time slot. 4:1 Ratio (2 instructors)

Level 2
This 4 session course is designed to help player's build on their foundation. Focus is on facing live pitching, bunting, situational hitting and goes deeper into the mental approach of hitting. Level 2 is designed for players who have played post season baseball, Major A or have attended a prior hitting clinic.

Catching Clinics

Players will work on skills including receiving, blocking, throwing, footwork, pitch calling and the mental approach to catching.

11 - 14 Year Olds - 3pm *FULL*

Pitching Clinics

Level 1
This four-session clinic is aimed to improve pitchers who have already pitched in game situations. Instructors will break down pitching mechanics and offer players drills they can do outside of clinics for their improvement. Instructors will also work with players on their mental approach when on the mound.
Tuesdays, January 23 - February 13
Registration based on 2018 League Age
9-11 Year Olds - 7pm *FULL*

$60.00 per player

Maximum 4 players per time slot.

Level 2
This four-session clinic is designed for players with pitching experience in games. Sessions focus on pitch selection, fine tuning mechanics and using bullpens to get practical experience.

12 - 16 Year Olds - 9pm

Fielding & Throwing Clinics

This two-session course teaches throwing and fielding mechanics. Emphasis is on breaking down mechanics and repetition to prepare players for in game situations.
Sundays, January 28 - February 4
Registration based on 2018 League Age
9 - 11 Year Olds - 4pm *FULL*
11 - 14 Year Olds - 5pm

Clinic Instructors include:

Bill Letcher - Coquitlam Little League coach with 10 year experience with the Big League (U18) program including at the Provincial and National level.
Brayden Tonogai
 - Former Coquitlam Little League player with 8 years experience coaching Little League at District, Provincial and National levels. More than 10 years as an Athletic Therapist working with semi pro baseball teams, Team Canada hockey and currently with the Langley Rivermen
Cam Williams - Former Coquitlam Little League player. Played on the 2010 Junior Canadian Championship team. Currently playing 1B and 3B with the University of Calgary Dinos.
David Otterman - Former Coquitlam Little League player, David was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2011.
Jake MacDonald - Former Coquitlam Reds catcher. Currently catching for the Okanagan College Coyotes.
Justin Atkinson - Drafted by the Blue Jays in 2011 as an infielder, Justin played for the Vancouver Canadians in 2015.
Michael Crouse - Former Coquitlam Little League player, Michael Crouse was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2008. Currently playing RF for the New Britain Bees of the Atlantic League, Michael led the league last year with 61 stolen bases.
Rene Tosoni - Former Coquitlam Reds player. Rene was drafted in 2004 by the Minnesota Twins. He made his MLB debut with the Twins in 2011.
Sandon Fraser - Former Coquitlam Little League player with 11 years experience coaching 10-18 year olds at District, Provincial and National levels.
Shawn Schaefer - Former Coquitlam Reds player. Currently a pitching coach with the Douglas College Royals.
Will Russell - Former Coquitlam Little League player. Played on the 2003 Big League Canadian Championship team and coached on the 2008 Junior Canadian Championship team.
