During our cold and wet fall/winter months, CLL has set up a Hitting League in our Blue Mountain batting cage. Available to all players registered in the 2010 season, Hitting League provides an opportunity to use techniques you have learned in practice with some “game-like” pressure. There is little to no instruction from coaches during your 1hr session, you’ll just come up and hit. Hitting drills and instruction can be worked out during one of our many clinics, or during regular practice time, so at Hitting League the compete level is high, as our player battle for batting supremacy.

Hitting League was developed in the south western states as a way to bring some competition to batting practice. Players split into teams (2 or 3 teams of 3 or 4 depending on numbers) and will compete for both individual and team titles. Players get a total of 8 swings during an ‘at-bat’ and will attempt at hitting the ball into one of 4 zones that are marked inside the cage. Each zone corresponds to a point value, which is totaled at the end of their at-bat. Every player on the team has an at-bat per inning, and the total points for each inning are recorded. Most points at the end of the hour wins!
