April 15 - The Jays trailed the Cardinals for the entire game last night, but pulled together to score an almost unheard of 9 runs in the top of the 7th to win 12-6. Throughout the game the Jays looked lazy in the field, but they never lost sight of the win. Every batter contributed in the 7th, and the Cardinals were unable to match their offensive power as they fell short in the 45 minute 7th. Next up for the Jays are the Junior Yankees on Friday night. First pitch is at 6:00pm. April 8 -
The Jays are tasting the bitterness of defeat for the second straight time tonight as they dropped their decision to the Giants 7-6. Scoring runs was not a problem for the Jays as they took a 6-3 lead into the 7th inning, but were foiled by giving up big hits late in the game. On a positive note the Jays were settled in nicely at the plate, and looked sound on the base paths. The Jays are taking their 5 day lay-off to work on the basics and will be prepared to take on the Junior Cardinals next Wednesday.
April 7 - Taking on the Yankees last night, the Jays fought hard, but unfortunately were handed their first loss of the 2010 season. Alex Hunt took to the hill and delivered the first pitch of the Junior season, a strike on the outside corner, and looked good in his 2 innings pitched. Curtis Taylor of the Yankees was quoted in saying "did you see that curveball? He's (Alex) beast!" Unfortunately the Jays' bats never came alive as they struggled to plate runners, and ended up losing the game 6-1. Not to be discouraged, the Jays are looking forward to their 19 game schedule and are viewing this loss as a minor speed bump. Their next opponent is the Giants on Thursday night. |
