Passed down from the powers that be at Little League International, there are numerous updates to the baseball rule book. Hopefully these changes have been made early enough that they may be included in the 2012 rule book, however it is important to pass them on now as well.
Changes to Policy: residence eligibility requirements
Changes to Regulations: updates to criminal records checks, updates to the age divisions for Senior and Big League baseball, updates to residency requirements for Challenger division, mandatory play increased in the Senior division
Changes to Playing Rules: bat specifications in Majors, Junior, Senior and Big League divisions, clarification on definition of jewlery worn on the field, clarification of an "at-bat" for purposes of mandatory play, clarification on definition of illegal bat, Majors allowed to advance on dropped 3rd strike, penalties implemented for using illegal bats
Changes to Tournament Rules: Tournament Driector/Committee given power to impose penalties during tournament play, updates to curfew in Junior/Senior/Big League, 10/11s may advance on dropped 3rd strike
