After the AGM

The turnout last night for Coquitlam Little League's Annual General Meeting was larger than in recent years, as parents came out to have their voices heard. Topics of discussion were largely focused on issues incountered during the 2010 season based on duel registration. As the discussion evolved into a circular argument, a recomendation was made for the 2011 Board of Directors to look again at the issue and come to a decision regarding duel registration during the off-season.

During nominations for the 2011 Executive, 4 members from 2010 announced they will be stepping down:

After 18 years of service on the Board of Directors, Greg Teasdale has regined from his post as Umpire in Chief, and will not be returning to CLL next season. Greg has umpired 1000's of games between Blue Mountain and Mackin Park, and has mentored 100's of new umpires during his career with CLL. Thanks Blue... good game.

After 8 years of service on the Board of Directors, 7 serving as President, Gerald Otterman has resigned from his post on the Executive. During his time in CLL Gerald has played a major role in building the CLL empire, helping develop our league into a powerhouse. Hosting a number of very successful major tournaments during his time, Gerald attributes his successful run as President to the long-term Executive he has worked with. Thank-you Gerald.

On the heels of his 3rd National Title, and his 9th year on the Board, Larry Park has resigned from his post at Coach/Player Development and will not be returning next season. Larry has had extreme success in his coaching career with CLL, winning the 12 year old District and Provincial Titles, being narrowly defeated at Nationals in Whalley. In 2008, 2009 and 2010, Larry was Head Coach of the Coquitlam Junior A's who represented Canada at the Junior League World Series. Larry has also put in time and money off the field as his company, Phantom Steel & Welding was the title sponsor of the 2008 Canadians hosted at Blue Mountain Park. Larry has put in numerous hours at both Mackin and Blue Mountain building and repairing facilities, as well as coaching. In the off-season Larry coordinated CLL's Academy bringing in big names to work with our players. Thank-you Larry.

After his 7th year on the CLL Executive, Bill Park has resigned from his post as Blue Mountain Coordinator and will not be returning next season. CLL has had extreme success during Bill's time as Blue Mountain Coordinator, hosting 2 Canadian Championships and producing National Champions for 3 consecutive years at the Junior level. In 2006 Bill was named manager of the 12 year old Major team, winning both the District and Provincial Titles, falling just short of a Natitional Championship loosing to Whalley in the finals. In 2008 Bill was named manager of eventual National Champion Junior A's. Following his National title, Bill remained on the Board and played a major role in bringing enduring success at the Junior level. Off the field Bill also played a huge role in the success of our league, putting in numerous hours building and repairing our facilities at Blue Mountain and Mackin. Thank-you Bill.

All 4 of these men were nominated and voted in as lifetime members of CLL for thier years of outstanding service and contributions to our league. From all the Executive, parents, players, coaches and umpires, thank-you.
