Congratulations to the 'Bros' for winning the 2011 Mid-Season Classic! A weekend spent battling the elements along with the other teams, the 'Bros' end up on top defeating the 'As' 9-4. A true pitcher's duel between 13 year olds Mark Ledlin (Bros) and Thierry Parker (As) kept the score low, and heading into the 4th inning the Bros were only up 4-2. Parker began showing slight signs of fatigue and was pulled in the 4th after throwing a season high 87 pitches.
The 'Bros' took advantage of a limited 'As' pitching staff, and managed to tack-on a few more insurance runs in the 5th.
The 'As' showed their patience and stormed back in the bottom half of the inning, putting runners on and managed to score 2 more runs of Ledin as he finally began to slow down. With 2 outs and 2 runners on the 'Bros' managed to get the final out needed to secure the championship.
A big thank-you goes out to all the parents that helped out over the weekend. The field would not have been playable if not for your efforts! A special thanks to Therese Mickelson for coordinating the parent duties for the tournament and especially to the Big League and Senior players for their coaching over the weekend.
