As you can see Coquitlam Little League absorbs a large portion of the cost of playing baseball. This is largely due to the enormous volunteer effort it takes to run a non-profit society and we count on our fundraisers and concession sales to keep registration costs low. Please keep this in mind during the season when we are selling Parent Pub Night tickets and Founder's Day Raffle Draw tickets.

6 year olds registering for the first time will be entered in the Blastball Division. Also, 8 year olds wishing to make the move to Rookie 'AA' must attend player evaluations. 12 year players that DO NOT wish to play in the Major Division and are taking advantage of the Little Leage Ready Waiver, DO NOT need to attend Major evaluations.

Coquitlam Little League’s catchment area encompasses the North-East section of Greater Vancouver to include Port Moody, Belcarra, Anmore, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, and Maple Ridge along with Coquitlam.

12 YEAR OLDS IN THE MAJOR DIVISION

As per Little League International's new regulations for 2009, all league eligible 12 year old players will be placed on Major Division teams.

So, in effect, any 12 year old registering to play baseball in Coquitlam Little League will be placed on a Majors Team. The Majors is the highest level of baseball for this age group and a higher commitment level is required to play in the Majors. All teams in the Major division play a minimum 3 games a week and practices occur at least once a week, with some teams holding two practices per week.

If a parent or player is not comfortable playing on a Major Division Team and would prefer to play at the Triple 'A' level, either because the player's skill level is not suitable for the Major Division or the commitment time is unmanageable, then the parents have the right to sign a Little League Ready Waiver Form - downloadable Here.

The CLL Board of Directors would then consider the waiver.

Please consider this new regulation prior to registration. Also, if you have any concerns or questions please contact: Wes Taylor, CLL Majors Coordinator.
