2020 Umpire Clinics

Umpiring is a great way for all ages to be involved with the game! There is a lot of flexibility and you even get paid. No experience is necessary. Stick with it, develop your skills and who knows, maybe you can end up umping a Canadian championship or even a World Series like our own Scott Barden, Mike Yamada and others!

New Umpire Clinic: Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm at Blue Mountain Cage

General Umpire Clinic (for all umps, new and returning): Friday, February 28, 2020 from 6 to 9 pm at Blue Mountain Cage

Any kids looking to get started with umpiring must attend both clinics. Any returning umpires must attend the General Umpire Clinic in order to receive the annual bump in your per game rate.

The sessions will focus on basic rules of baseball, maintaining the tempo of the game, basic positioning (2-person system), and will answer any questions that attendees may have. Each umpire will gain an understanding of proper positioning for both the plate and base positions.

Anyone wanting to umpire in 2020 for Coquitlam Little League must attend clinics! Registration for the clinics is now open on the CLL website. Please make sure you register for each session which you need to attend.

For more information, please contact the CLL Umpire-In-Chief, Robert Piasentin (rpiasentin@coquitlamlittleleague.ca).
