Baseball pants and cleats are optional. It is common for players to wear runners, soccer cleats, track pants or sweat pants.
Mini-Minor is the 2nd step in your baseball career… the level that everyone remembers as pitching machine! Playing 2 days per week, these 5-6 year olds continue to build on their baseball fundamentals with the extra challenge of hitting a moving ball. Defensive skills also come into focus in Mini Minor, as fielders pick up their gloves for the first time and learn to throw and catch like the big guys on TV! Coaches remain on the field throughout the game, taking advantage of key learning opportunities and to provide extra encouragement to everyone!
Fast-paced and exciting the Mini-Minor division plays at Hartley Field in Mountain View Park, where CLL provides a safe and encouraging baseball environment as kids become self-sufficient ball players. Practice and game nights both start at 6pm.
Attention Mini-Minor Coaches: For those parents (with or without baseball experience) that want to help out and coach but are not confident or don’t know what to do, we have also developed a guide for coaches containing practice plans. There will be set practice plans for each practice day that will guide coaches on what drills to practices while incorporating games to make skill development fun for both players and coaches.
